Nathan Cullen’s Silence – Not an April fools Joke
William Shakespeare dramatized Caesar’s assassination and its aftermath in the eponymous tragedy Julius Caesar (dated to around 1599). Early in the play, a soothsayer warns Caesar to “Beware the ides of March.” Later, on the fateful day, Caesar is stabbed (famously 23 times). Shakespeare has the dying dictator say, in Latin, as he recognizes his one-time friend Brutus among the assassins: “Et tu, Brute?” (“You, too, Brutus?”).
“Beware the ides of March.” has special meaning in the riding of Bulkley Valley-Stikine, we the people will become the April fools that elected Nathan Cullen, while he silently stands by with his support for the massive tax grab called Carbon Tax. His boss David Eby is not so silent, he is thumbing his nose at the rest of Canada. Its a complete waste of time trying to get Cullen to stand up for the people of his riding, he does what his master demands of him.
So how to we determine who is your enemy and who is your friend? By a mans actions or by the lack thereof?
So given the example below, a small car would cost 49 dollars in taxes to fill up, not including the price of the actual gas. On the average pickup truck that would be very close to 100 dollars in taxes for every time you filled up your tank, now get this, those taxes you pay at the pump are taken from the money left over after they taxed your wages or income first. Worse yet is all these same taxes are a tax write-off for politicians go figure! That means the people of Bulkley Valley-Stikine will be paying his carbon taxes for him. Anyone wonder why he is silent on the issue?
Its time to take the trash out.
I saw a mime the other day, that sort of says it all
Well said. Thank you.
