Former Premier Christy Clark’s Bombshell on David Eby’s Tanker Ban
David Eby gets a bombshell commentary from former Premier Christ Clark, we have written about this same issue more than once, but her version is definitely worth hearing. We published previously “Tanker ban is an epic fail that hurts Canadians ” as well as “Canada’s Stupid Tanker Ban – Its time for Bill C-229” David Eby is an very clever liar, if you remove the locks on building pipelines, private money will come forward. Watch the second and third video on this page. Don’t miss how Nathan Cullen props up a dead horse.
Jason Kenny putting CBC in its place.
David Eby is objectively a much bigger threat to confederation, and to the rule of law, than Alberta separatists.
Hard core Alberta separatists are a tiny minority of the population. Their “movement” is made up largely of grifters and cranks. They just won 1% of the vote in the Crowfoot by-election. Despite widespread, justifiable frustration with Ottawa amongst Albertans, there is zero chance a majority would actually vote to leave Canada and become a separate, landlocked country.
Eby, on the other hand, is actively undermining the Canadian Constitution with his ideological hostility to pipelines, and doing real damage to national unity and prosperity in the process.
Section 92(10) of the Constitution Act plainly grants authority over interprovincial infrastructure, such as pipelines, to the federal government.
When the BC NDP government challenged this, asserting a power to regulate the Trans Mountain Pipeline, both the BC Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada *unanimously* struck down this ridiculous effort. The Courts re-affirmed exclusive federal authority over interprovincial pipelines.
Following that decision, the late Premier John Horgan told me that “the law is clear, we are downing tools, and we will do nothing to obstruct the completion of TMX.”
However, he also warned me that his party included a “mud hut wing” of green extremists, which I took to include Eby.
Eby’s a lawyer. He knows what the Constitution says. He knows what the top Courts said recently and unanimously on this subject. But he doesn’t care because he is, and always has been, an ideological zealot. For him the Constitution, the rule of law, national unity and prosperity must all be subordinated to his ideology.
He doesn’t care that the vast majority of First Nations in Western Canada support responsible resource development, and are increasingly partners in major projects like pipelines. That’s because as a hard left Vancouver lawyer, he holds a condescending, outdated view that First Nations must be instrumentalized as moral cover for urban green activists. The brilliant former Haisla Chief Councillor and current MP Ellis Ross calls this “eco-colonialism.”
He doesn’t care that a super majority of British Colombians support an oil pipeline through Northern BC https://edmontonjournal.com/opinion/columnists/mark-carney-pipelines-emissions-cap-oil-gas-economy-david-staples
He doesn’t care that such a pipeline would generate ~$30 billion in export revenue for the Canadian economy annually, roughly equivalent to all of Canada’s lumber exports; or that it would create thousands of long term, good paying jobs – disproportionately for indigenous people.
And he doesn’t care that his illegal, unconstitutional vow to block an interprovincial pipeline will make us more dependant on the United States, while undermining national unity amongst patriotic Canadians who correctly believe that confederation is predicated in part on the ability of landlocked provinces to export what they produce.
Eby is again demonstrating that he’s not really on Team Canada.
After all, this is the only Premier who missed the most important first ministers meeting in decades when he decided that wandering around Tokyo convenience stores mattered more than negotiating an agreement on internal trade. https://x.com/jkenney/status/1933387609918877838?s=46&t=FNQZLDovYV1cCyluFv2NNQ
And he’s the Premier who gave a multi billion dollar ship building contract to a subsidized Chinese shipyard linked to the Communist People’s Liberation Army, rather than helping to create ship building jobs here in Canada.
Pity that the great province of British Columbia is being led by a myopic left wing activist who is more focussed on pandering to his party’s “mud hut wing” than on protecting national unity, the Constitution, the rule of law, and the future of Canada’s economy.
From Nathan Cullen
Keep in mind the Tanker ban is a Nathan Cullen (Sierra Club BC) project. The video that follows shows exactly what kind of deceitful liar Nathan is.
