Kerry-Lynne D Findlay – BC Conservative Leadership Race

I chose Kerry as my first entry because we are almost the same age. While my faculties are still 100% the engine under it is not, and the body is more like an older rusty automobile. I would love to make her a bet, that I have been a member of the Federal Conservative party longer than she has. I stared working with the Federal Conservatives at 16 years of age, and became a member at 19 because unlike today you can be a recent immigrant with a residency visa and only be 14 years of age, we had to be both a citizen and of voting age (19) to hold a membership.
I say this with absolute sincerity, that I am alive today, not because I am more deserving, or that I lived righteously, but simply by the grace of God, that after more than 70 years, I still get to live another day. Unlike the youth of today, people over 70 cannot take life for granted, none of us knows the day our clock runs out. My point here is Kerry cannot assume such a massive and important task without creating a high risk of not being able to complete or even take on the very heavy schedule required by someone starting the role of party building, let alone plan for an election.
Granted she has enough years under her belt to have the gift of gab, a polished politician, but that does not make up for no provincial experience. Seriously Kerry will set a new all-time record as oldest person ever to become the leader of a political party in all of Canada. The previous record was set my a man almost 8 years younger than Kerry. Blaine Higgs lasted only 4 years before leaving office due to tactics similar to what John Rustad faced. Kim Campbell was 46 years old when she was sworn in as Canada’s 19th Prime Minister on June 25, 1993 and even at that age, retired after losing the election, leaving the Federal Conservatives in a total mess.
Brian Mulroney was 54 years old when he resigned as Prime Minister of Canada and retired from federal politics in June 1993. Stephen Harper was 57 years old when he officially resigned as a Member of Parliament. Joe Clark, Canada’s 16th Prime Minister retired at the age of 64. This is not be coincidence or accident, one must know their limitations and put that ahead of their own egos.
Moving on from the issue of age, Kerry-Lynne Findlay ran for the Federal Conservatives in the General Election (April 28, 2025) and lost a seat she had held for two terms by over 3000 votes. That is failed leadership, unlike Pierre Poilievre who has to appear all over the country, Kerry-Lynne Findlay only had to win her own riding and was unable to do that. She has zero experience as an MLA, and somehow thinks that after losing her seat federally she now qualifies to run for the Premier of British Columbia. I do not see in her what is commonly referred to as being humble in seeking such an important job, I do see a lot of blatant arrogance and attack ads on other Conservative candidates. This tells me she is not a team player but wishes to retire as a dictator, using our province for her own satisfaction.
Not a single word of what she stated here is true, what kind of lawyer does that? To blatantly lie for lust of power? Does winning mean that much to her that lying about your conservative colleagues is more important than telling the truth?
Seriously is this is what we call leadership, to remove the corrupt NDP?
In our Parliament following the May 2021 announcement by Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc First Nation regarding 215 potential graves at the former Kamloops Indian Residential School, intense national scrutiny led to a House of Commons motion. In October 2022, Parliament unanimously passed a motion recognizing the residential school system as “genocide” (Fact checked) Kerry-Lynne D Findlay was a sitting member of the house at that time and made no abjections to this outrageous claim. While Findlay did support the motion as a sitting MP by not objecting, as a lawyer herself she already knew that the term “genocide” was blatantly wrong, but rather than ask to have that word changed, she simply voted in favour by way of abstaining from voting.
On the major issues all candidates are calling for a repeal of the Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (DRIPA) it’s not a secret, yet Kerry runs around claiming she is the only one. Has politics become so disgusting that this is the new norm?
Kerry again lied on the issue of SOGI, pretending she is the only one opposed, while its common knowledge that all candidates want it removed.
Kerry lied again on the issue of safe supply, all the candidates are opposed to it, however Kerry is banking on a highly edited audio recording to attack another candidate, as a lawyer she knows doctored recordings are deceit, plain and simple.
Kerry lied about other candidates position on decriminalization of hard drugs, the issues surrounding COVID and even creative fiction of the Freedom Convoy. It was Kerry-Lynne Findlay who was in Ottawa during the Freedom Convoy, but her support only appeared outside the House of Commons. Inside she never spoke in defence of the Freedom Convoy.
The entire object of her mentioning the Freedom Convoy was to use a lie to give another candidate a black eye based on a lie. If the Freedom Convoy meant that much to Kerry, why is it she would not fight for them in parliament, instead she used it to get sound bites in the press.
