The Political Left – Honors Mabel Forsythe
It should not come as a surprise that the outgoing mayor of Smithers Gladys Atrill and Sam Raven both team activists for the local socialist NDP would attempt once again to legitimize the attacks on industry in the Bulkley Valley. Note even Taylor Bachrach showed up for this leftist event.
Let me use an old phase, “It’s not what they said that matters; It’s what they left unsaid that matters.”
For the Smithers town council the name Mabel Forsythe is synonymous with “land recognition” meaning the socialist notion we are living on stolen land. After all you cannot build a resource industry on land that does not belong to you. This archives the NDP goal of no pipelines, no mines, no logging, no data centres, no LNG, no fossil fuels. It leads to abject poverty and total government control, just as they have done with crime and rampant drug abuse, they make us dependent on them for protection.
Looking at the entire lens instead of the rosy version the NDP have laid out for us, let’s look deeper into the history of Mabel Forsythe and Smithers, the stuff the NDP won’t tell you.
Mabel Forsythe was the so called matriarch that took a radical blockader by profession and officially adopted this Gitxsan/Stellat’en by the name of Molly Wichham into the Witsuwit’en camp to oppose the CGL Pipeline. This despite another higher ranking Witsuwit’en woman by the name of Gulaxkan (The Bear That Sleeps All Winter Long) also known as Rita George, standing up to make corrections to what Molly Wicham and Mabel Forsythe were doing.
Later Mabel Forsythe also adopted another Gitxsan/Stellat’en it was Molly’s sister Jennifer, the pair who ran Checkpoint 44 on the Morice logging Road. Other than doing her part in this leftist ceremony, Mabel Forsythe rally has not made any other contribution to Smithers other than being the face of the leftist agenda.
To fully understand just what was going on here you need to read and watch this video. Molly Wickham gets correction from a highly respected Wet’suwet’en “Gidimt’en” matriarch.
Mabel Forsythe is the mother-in-law of Alphonse Gagnon born as the half breed son of a French Canadian man and his mother was a Gitxsan, and under both Witsuwit’en and Gixsan law, being a matriarchal society, makes him a Gitxsan. Alphonse was a leading proponent in the theft of the Smogelgem title, that was given to his nephew Warner Naziel while Alphonse Gagnon continues to hold a title that does not belong to him.
His brother Adam now has a criminal record for his attacks on the equipment that belonged to Coastal Gaslink.
Mabel Forsythe is the mother of Lucy Gagnon, the lady that did the books for the Moricetown Indian Band, and what a coincidence, her husband and his briother Adam Gagnon ended up as being among the richest people living on that reserve.
Again this is all about stopping resource development in the Bulkley Valley. “Land recognition” and this leftist ceremony is all about keeping the resistance to industry developing “our” land from being developed.
To give this leftist agenda they needed a face, yes she showed up for all the events to keep the leftist twist alive. Other than making appearances and welcoming people to land that was never handed over to the Gidimt’en house clan. Mabel Forsythe is not even the highest ranking matriarch in the Gidimt’en clan. That honour belongs to , not Mabel Forsythe.
So why did they give that honour to Mabel Forsythe and not Rita George? It’s all about who supported and who did not support the CGL Pipeline. It was only natral for the NDP to pick Mabel Forsythe who was complicit to their objectives.
